Writing long hours over coffee, a history of flying helicopters, riding motorcycles, & the ever-present passion for pulling on the threads of psychology. That's what you'll find here.

History

Short.

Carsten’s first career was as a military helicopter pilot and flying instructor. He followed his passion into psychology and it’s a love that’s never left him.

Long.

Carsten flew Iroquois helicopters in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, where he deployed to East Timor and the Solomon Islands. He deployed to Afghanistan as part of the provincial reconstruction of Bamiyan in the late 2000s.

Carsten rode a motorcycle solo around South America.

Carsten is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board

Carsten has coached for Seth Godin's altMBA.

He has a Masters in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology researching the mental heath experiences of NZDF service members.

Carsten lives in a small New Zealand beachside with his family and two beloved rescue-greyhounds, where he listens to podcasts, writes, researches, and notices what a joy it is to be alive.
